How do I send money on Tilt?

With Tilt, you're now able to send and request money using our mobile app—perfect for paying back your friend for last night's dinner or collecting rent and utility expenses from your roommates.  

Note: The Pay and Request features are only available to Tilters in the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland. If you haven't already, you can download the latest version of our app from the App Store or Play Store.

How do I send money?

  1. Tap the Pay button at the top of the Home screen.
  2. Enter the amount you'd like to send to a friend. Pro Tip: There's a built-in calculator on the keyboard, so you can do any (bill) calculations right in the app!
  3. Add the recipient by name or phone number. If the recipient is not on Tilt yet, they will receive a text with the download link and instructions to set up a Tilt account and receive the payment (takes less than 60 seconds).
  4. Add a short description to the payment. Pizza last night🍕🍕🍕, drinks🍸🍷, rent🏡—you name it. You can choose whether the payment will be visible for everyone on Tilt, for your friends, or for the participants of the transaction only. For more information on our privacy settings, please see this article.
  5. Ready to send? Tap Pay!

How do I receive money?

If you already have your bank account connected, we'll send you a notification to let you know the money is on its way! If you haven't connected your bank account yet, you can do so here.
 
Your bank may take 1-2 business days to make the funds available. Don't see the transaction? Check out this article for more information on how the transactions will be displayed on your bank statement(s).
 
Are there any fees?
 
In the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, sending and requesting money is FREE for anyone using Visa or MasterCard debit cards. A 3% processing fee is added for credit cards. In Canada, this feature is FREE for both debit and credit cards.
 
Currently, you're only able to send money to someone in your own country.
